McGraw Drives for Five as Laguna Hills Rolls

MISSION VIEJO — Brendan McGraw rushed for five touchdowns as Laguna Hills beat Las Vegas Silverado, 47-8, Friday night at Mission Viejo High.
McGraw, who rushed 22 times for 164 yards, has scored 12 touchdowns in three games this season. All have come rushing.
The Hawks (2-1) scored on their first possession when McGraw ran up the middle for 15 yards and a 6-0 lead with 8 minutes 38 seconds left in the first quarter.
Laguna Hills made it 12-0 when McGraw went 32 yards down the left sideline with 5:35 left in the first quarter.
McGraw scored two more times before halftime as Laguna Hills built a 26-0 lead. With 10:37 left in the half, McGraw went off tackle for a four-yard touchdown run. He then went in from three yards out with 30 seconds left in the half.
The Hawks scored on their first possession in the third quarter when McGraw ran off tackle from four yards out for a 33-0 lead. After backup quarterback Corey Pardoe threw an 18-yard touchdown to Jay Johnson with 5:27 left in the third, Hawk Coach Steve Bresnahan pulled the rest of the starters.
Led by Pardoe, the second string players made the score 47-0 as time ran out in the third quarter. Vijay Goel scored from one yard out.
Silverado (0-4) scored its only touchdown on a five-yard run by quarterback Toby Smeltzer with 8:20 left in the fourth quarter.
