Seattle 9, Detroit 4--Jay Buhner’s home run ignited a five-run rally in the seventh inning that carried the Mariners to victory at Seattle.
Edgar Martinez went 4 for 4 with a homer, two runs scored and two RBIs for the Mariners.
With the score tied 3-3, Buhner led off with his 15th homer against Storm Davis (0-2) to put the Mariners ahead for good. Luis Sojo hit a run-scoring single, Dan Wilson had a two-run double and Martinez capped the inning with an RBI single.
