Laguna Hills Hit by Power Failure

LAGUNA HILLS — A power failure left 3,351 residents without electricity Tuesday morning, and about 300 of them still had no power 14 hours later.
The blackout occurred when an underground cable broke at 9:43 a.m., a spokesman for San Diego Gas and Electric said.
Power was restored to homes throughout the day, but by 10:30 p.m., about 10% of the homes initially affected still had no electricity.
Some residents complained about having no air conditioning and food thawing in their refrigerators, the spokesperson said.
