HUNTINGTON BEACH : Tours of Bolsa Chica Wetlands to Be Held
- Share via
For a close-up look at the species of the Bolsa Chica wetlands, tours will be held Saturday morning.
Morning tours begin every 20 minutes starting at 9 a.m. from the main parking lot on Pacific Coast Highway, one mile south of Warner Avenue. The last tour begins at 10:30 a.m.
The tours, given by Amigos de Bolsa Chica, last approximately 1 1/2 hours.
Visitors will see nesting tern species--including Forster’s terns, elegant terns, royal terns, least terns and black skimmer terns. California sea hares also can be seen because it is their mating season.
Amigos de Bolsa Chica also is sponsoring a photo contest, open to amateur photographers who have captured life at the wetlands. Categories include photos of herons, egrets, other bird and animal life, plants, landscape and people.
Deadline to submit entries is Aug. 1. Entry forms are available at the information table at City Hall, 2000 N. Main St., or by calling the Amigos’ office at (714) 897-7003.
