THOUSAND OAKS : Farmers’ Market to Move Across Street
- Share via
The Thousand Oaks Farmers’ Market will move across the street starting July 7, with 60 produce and flower vendors setting up booths in the Village Square Center on Moorpark Road.
Displaced from Janss Mall because of construction, the farmers’ market will move permanently to the center between Hillcrest and Brazil streets.
The market will retain its regular hours: 4 to 8 p.m. Thursdays.
Because the new location is more visible and offers more parking, farmers’ market manager Karen Wetzel predicted that sales would pick up after the move. “It’s really exciting,” she said.
But Wetzel noted that when the Ventura Farmers’ Market moved in 1991, vendors lost many faithful customers.
Sales dropped 15% after the move and stayed depressed for as long as six months.
