SIMI VALLEY : Armed Man Robs Vons Supermarket

Simi Valley police Tuesday were searching for a man who held up a Vons supermarket clerk at gunpoint and then fled with several hundred dollars in cash.
The man entered the Vons market at 2204 Tapo St. about 11 p.m. Monday, police said.
He approached the cashier, brandished a gun and demanded money from the register, police said.
The cashier gave the man several hundred dollars, and he fled the store on foot. No shots were fired and no injuries were reported, police said.
The robber was described as a white, 25- to 30 -year-old man with black hair, wearing a purple shirt and gray pants, police said.
Detectives on Tuesday were looking for more witnesses.
