UCI Adds Two Coaches to Its Soccer Staff

UC Irvine has hired Raman Bridwell as a men’s soccer assistant coach and Stephanie Poncher as a women’s assistant.

Bridwell was an assistant at Cal State Dominguez Hills under Irvine soccer director Marine Cano last season. Poncher coached at South Torrance High last season.

The Southern California College women’s volleyball team announced the signing of five players for next season:

Debbie Martin, a setter from Capistrano Valley Christian; Alexis Gelder, an outside hitter from Eden Prairie (Minn.) High; Susan Verdery, a setter from St. Helen High in Northern California; Jody Kohutek, a swing hitter from Sky Forest High in San Bernardino and Marianne Washington, a middle blocker from Castillega High in Palo Alto.
