EDS Gets $3.2-Billion Deal From Xerox: Under the agreement, which Xerox Corp. said it believes is the largest commercial contract of its kind, Electronic Data Systems Inc. will operate Xerox’s worldwide computer and telecommunications network for the next 10 years. EDS, a unit of General Motors Corp. that supplies information technology for businesses and governments worldwide, will assume responsibility for Xerox data processing, telecommunications and computer network services. About 1,700 Xerox staff members and contractors will transfer to EDS as the computer operations in 19 countries are gradually moved under EDS control.
