BUCHAREST, Romania — A man and his son were electrocuted by a booby trap they had set up to protect their onion patch against thieves, a Bucharest newspaper said Saturday.
Florian Iorga, 42, and his 16-year-old son, Aurel, were found dead Friday in their pajamas among the onions behind their Bucharest house, the daily Evenimentul Zilei said.
The two were searching the garden after hearing noises in the night and evidently stepped on the wires. Iorga set the trap after thieves had stolen onions and threatened him with violence when he reported them.
