PALMDALE — Nine people were held at gunpoint Tuesday afternoon during the robbery of about $50,000 worth of merchandise from a jewelry store, authorities said.
No one was injured in the holdup, which took place just after noon at aPalmdale Jewelry Mart, 2728 E. Palmdale Blvd., said Los Angeles Sheriff’s Sgt. Bob Denham.
Denham said a man, armed with a semiautomatic pistol, and his female partner, both in their 20s, entered the store and threatened employees and customers while gathering up the jewelry.
“We know it was a substantial amount--over $50,000 worth,” Denham said.
The two robbers fled from the store in an unknown direction. No getaway car was seen, Denham said.
