Sweetser, from El Toro High, accomplished a lot last week. She secured berths in three events for the Southern California prelims as well as signed a letter of intent to attend Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va., next fall. Sweetser won the Orange Empire Conference 5,000-meter race in 18 minutes 55.6 seconds. She was second in the 1,500 with a personal best time of 4:51.85 and was fifth in the 3,000 (11:03.92). Sweetser was the top runner on OCC’s cross-country team that finished second to Irvine Valley last fall in the State meet.

Other notables:

* Roxanne Sota, Fullerton, won the 500 freestyle, the 200 individual medley and the 100 butterfly at the South Coast Conference meet.
