GM Strike Deadline at Hand: Workers at a General Motors plant in Flint, Mich., that supplies important engine parts were preparing to strike this morning if a contract dispute over local workplace conditions remained unresolved. A strike by the 6,800 workers at the AC Rochester East complex could hurt GM’s production. GM and UAW negotiators met over the weekend and again Monday but reported no progress.
