WOMEN’S BASKETBALL : No. 8 USC Rolls Past Cal, 97-60

Tina Thompson scored 23 points and grabbed 16 rebounds Friday night, leading No. 8 USC to a 97-60 victory over California.
USC, 14-1 overall and 7-0 in the Pacific 10 Conference, never trailed and held the Bears to 29% shooting.
The Trojans used an 18-5 run to pull away in the first half. They led by 54-25 at halftime.
USC shot 54% and outrebounded the Bears, 61-28.
Lisa Leslie scored 20 points and had 14 rebounds for USC.
Louise Nelson led Cal (7-9, 1-5) with 16 points before fouling out with 7:47 remaining.
