Sports Arena to Reopen for Tonight’s Game

Earthquake repairs have been completed at the Sports Arena, which will re-open tonight for a game between the Clippers and the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Jay Hagerman, manager of the building that has been closed since the Jan. 17 earthquake, said he received the go-ahead to re-open Friday morning from city inspectors.

“Fortunately, the damage was very minor,” he said. “However, we wanted to make absolutely sure that the facility was 100% safe before we opened to the public.”
