MOORPARK : Trial Ordered in Alleged Molestation

A 22-year-old Moorpark man on Friday pleaded not guilty in connection with charges that he molested a 12-year-old girl after kidnaping her as she walked home from Chaparral Middle school in November.
A trial date for Robert Magdaleno was set for Feb. 28.
Magdaleno is charged with five counts of child molestation. According to authorities, Magdaleno abducted the girl on Nov. 1 and attacked her in an unoccupied home.
He was arrested several hours after the girl reported the incident. A judge on Jan. 14 ordered Magdaleno to stand trial on the charges after ruling that the prosecution had enough evidence against him.
The case been assigned to Superior Court Judge Allan L. Steele, who conducted Friday’s arraignment.
