Ridiculing NIMBYs Is Too Easy to Do

* Until I read Lew Snow’s strident attack on those opposing the digging of new lakes on high ground behind Hansen Dam (“Objections to Hansen Dam Project Don’t Hold Water,” Jan. 9), I didn’t realize how strong and threatening the opposition was. Very gratifying!
Of course, it’s easy for him to ridicule the NIMBY (not-in-my-back-yard) types, for as soon as he could afford to, he moved out of Lake View Terrace for the sanctuary of Burbank. Incidentally, the homeowners association that he headed represented only about 370 adults out of 8,000 in the community, and it never had the courage to have a secret ballot of its members on this issue.
