Master’s Streak Reaches Seven

CHICO — Doug Leaman had 16 points and six assists and teammate Emeka Okenwa added 14 points and a game-high 10 rebounds as The Master’s College rolled to a 96-74 victory over Sonoma State in the first round of the Cal State Chico tournament Tuesday.
The win was the seventh in a row for the Mustangs (11-2), who are off to their best start in the program’s 29-year history.
Leaman hit seven of eight field-goal attempts--two from three-point range--as The Master’s shot 53.7% from the field and hit nine of 12 three-point attempts.
James Mosley added 14 points for the Mustangs, who had six players score in double figures. Stephen Koster scored 25 points for Sonoma State (2-7).
