MOORPARK : Nominees Sought for Citizen of the Year
- Share via
The Moorpark Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for its annual Citizen of the Year award, which will be presented at the chamber’s annual dinner-dance next month.
Chamber President Francis Okyere said the award is the chamber’s way of honoring residents who have gone out of their way to improve the city.
“We recognize people that have contributed to the community in a positive manner,” Okyere said. “They serve as an inspiration to the rest of us in the community, so we celebrate their accomplishments and encourage them to go forward.”
Carla Robertson, former school board president, was last year’s honoree.
Nomination forms are available at the chamber office at 530 Moorpark Ave. Anyone can make a nomination through Jan. 3. The award is scheduled to be presented at the installation dance Jan. 22. For information, call Carolyn Schrimpf at 539-0322.
