VAN NUYS : Juries in Menendez Case Continue to Deliberate
- Share via
While Erik and Lyle Menendez waited in cells at the Van Nuys courthouse, separate juries continued to deliberate the murder cases against them Monday.
In its third day, the Erik Menendez jury notified Superior Court Judge Stanley M. Weisberg that it would take only an hour for lunch from now on instead of 90 minutes.
The Lyle Menendez jury, which did not deliberate last Friday because a juror was ill, resumed on Monday, its sixth day of deliberations.
Lyle Menendez, 25, and Erik Menendez, 23, are brought to the courthouse each day from the county jail to await a verdict. They are charged with first-degree murder in the Aug. 20, 1989, shotgun slayings of their parents, Jose Menendez, 45, a wealthy entertainment executive, and Kitty Menendez, 47.
