An Increase in Sales of Homes Is Projected

Sales of new and existing homes in Ventura County are projected to total 8,587 in 1993, an increase of 2% over 1992, according to TRW REDI Property Data.
The expected improvement over last year’s 8,394 sales contrasts with projected declines of 3% statewide and 4% in Los Angeles County.
The rate of decline in home sales in Southern California as a whole has slowed significantly, “giving rise to the prospect that Southern California’s housing market has bottomed out,” said Nima Nattagh, TRW REDI’s market analyst.
TRW projects that housing prices in Ventura County this year will average $234,716, 1% below last year’s $238,119.
This would be less than projected declines of 3% statewide and 4% in L. A. County.
