Kassebaum Calls On Packwood to Resign

WASHINGTON — The nation’s senior female senator, Nancy Kassebaum (R-Kan.), said “the time has come” for fellow Republican Bob Packwood to resign because of an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct and possible obstruction.
Kassebaum, a former Senate ethics committee member, joined Sens. Robert Byrd (D-W.Va.) and Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii), who earlier called for the Oregon Republican to leave Congress.
Packwood’s office had no comment.
