Meeting on DWP’s Water Rates Slated

A third and final meeting on the controversial issue of water rates in the city of Los Angeles will be held tonight at Granada Hills High School.
The meeting, presented by the Mayor’s Blue Ribbon Committee on Water Rate Restructuring, was requested by Councilman Hal Bernson, who has been critical of the new rates.
It will be an opportunity for San Fernando Valley residents to give the committee suggestions and complaints about the Department of Water and Power’s rate system adopted in December, 1992.
The meeting will start at 6 p.m. at the high school, 10535 Zelzah Ave. Two meetings were held in Woodland Hills and Sherman Oaks last month, but Bernson said a third was needed for people living in the northern area of the Valley.
