Mike Brotherton scored five points in overtime to lead San Jose State to a 95-90 victory over visiting Loyola Marymount on Saturday night.
Brotherton, a junior center, scored a career-high 26 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for the Spartans (3-3).
Loyola Marymount fell to 0-4, but Coach John Olive saw improvement.
“We played much better than we have in our first three games, but we did a poor job of execution down the stretch,” Olive said.
Senior guard Bill Mazuri scored 21 for Loyola Marymount.
