No. 7 Huntington Beach 18, No. 9 Compton Dominguez 12--Chris Yadrick scored the winning touchdown on a six-yard run with four minutes remaining to help the Oilers win their Division II semifinal before 4,800 at Huntington Beach.

Levi Schuck completed 18 of 27 passes for 176 yards for the Oilers (13-0). Dominguez finished 10-2.

No. 8 Hawthorne 44, Ventura Buena 20--Fullback Kalisi Moala rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns and tailback Eric Chaney ran for 121 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Cougars in a Division III game at Hawthorne.

Hawthorne (12-1) took a 22-0 lead in the second quarter and scored touchdowns on six of its first seven possessions. Buena (9-4) scored three consecutive touchdowns to pull within 22-20 with 7:40 left in the third quarter, but the Cougars scored on their next three possessions to put the game away.

No. 3 Newbury Park 43, No. 18 Bell Gardens 26--Keith Smith passed for 385 yards and four touchdowns to lead Newbury Park (13-0) to a Division III victory.

Smith, the state’s all-time leading passer, threw three touchdown passes to senior receiver Jason Tucker (13 catches, 190 yards).

No. 17 Moreno Valley Canyon Springs 27, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame 7--Junior Bryan Howard rushed for 120 yards and blocked a punt to lead the Cougars (12-1) at Birmingham High.

Canyon Springs, the top-seeded team in Division IV, outgained Notre Dame, 300-109. The Knights (10-3) gained only seven yards in the second half.

Whittier 24, Anaheim Western 12--Kourtney Dean rushed for 156 yards and quarterback Bryan LaVigne rushed for two touchdowns to help Whittier to a Division VI victory at California High.

Garden Grove Rancho Alamitos 24, Arroyo Grande 14--Jeff Turbarg caught six passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns and Kevin Allen ran for 172 yards and a touchdown in 25 carries to lead the Vaqueros (9-3-1) over the Eagles (6-6) at Bolsa Grande High.

Costa Mesa 35, San Marino 7--Binh Tran rushed for 309 yards in 50 carries and scored three touchdowns to lead Costa Mesa to a Division VIII championship game for the first time.

Costa Mesa and San Marino are each 9-2-2.

Atascadero 21, Santa Ynez 16--Andrew McCrory completed four of nine passes for 47 yards, but three of those went for touchdowns as the Greyhounds (12-1) won a Division IX game at home. Santa Ynez finished 11-2.
