Two San Clemente High seniors won an automotive technology competition among county high schools and are headed to New York for a national competition in March.
Tore Amato and Henry Sieck beat students from El Toro, Los Alamitos, Marina, Mission Viejo and Valencia high schools at Orange County’s first annual International Auto Show Technology Competition.
Each student won a $3,500 scholarship, a trophy, a certificate of achievement and an all-expense-paid trip to New York for the national competition on March 31.
If the students win in New York, they will each receive $5,000 in scholarships and a 1994 Mitsubishi Mirage.
