USC Cinema Students Win Scholarships

USC students Rob Miller and Shonda Rhimes will each receive $10,000 Gary Rosenberg Awards for Outstanding Achievements in screenwriting, leading the pack in the university’s School of Cinema-Television annual student scholarship awards, announced Friday.
Other awards include two $8,000 Jack Nicholson Awards, to student Jeffrey Nachmanoff for directing and to Adam Prince for screenwriting. The Thomas Bush Memorial Award in Cinematography will provide $5,000 each to Hugh Webber and Steve Yamamoto, and the $8,000 John Huston Award for Outstanding Achievement in Directing goes to Noel Maxam.
Receiving the special John Singleton/MTV Minority Award is student Najah Al-Hagigah. Singleton is a previous recipient of the Jack Nicholson Award.
