Notre Dame 22, Rubidoux 19--Defensive back Anthony Jacquet intercepted a Donnie Edwards pass with 3:18 to play at Sherman Oaks to preserve the Knights’ first playoff victory since 1989. Notre Dame will play Villa Park next week.
Notre Dame (9-2) overcame three first-half turnovers and a 19-14 third-quarter deficit when running back Lei Malieitulua hauled in a 20-yard scoring pass from quarterback Jabbar Craigwell for the winning touchdown with 11:21 to play. Malieitulua carried 14 times for 119 yards and rushed for two touchdowns.
