Leslie’s Poolmart Profits Up 19% in 3rd Quarter

Leslie’s Poolmart, a Chatsworth-based retailer of swimming-pool supplies, said its profit surged 19% in the third quarter compared with a year earlier.
For the quarter that ended Sept. 30, the company reported a net income of $2.53 million, up from $2.13 million in the same period a year earlier. Revenue in the latest quarter totaled $39.9 million, up 25% from $32 million a year earlier. Brian P. McDermott, president and chief executive officer, said Leslie’s promotional programs and low prices helped to increase sales.
Through three quarters that ended Sept. 30, Leslie’s profit was up 27% to $4.91 million, from $3.87 million a year earlier. Revenue for nine months totaled $106.5 million, an increase of 26% from $84.6 million a year earlier.
