Leon Jones, a past president of the Brea Theatre League, was given the Founder’s Award Monday night at the Brea Theatre League Donor Guild’s sixth annual awards for performances at the community theater in the previous season. Other winners in the ceremony at the Curtis Theatre in Brea were Darren Boyet (best actor), Betsy Spear (best actress), Emily Benson (best juvenile performance), Ted Escobar (best character actor), PJ Mansur (best character actress), Laurie Freed (best female vocalist), David Rousseve (best supporting actor), and Denise Vallin (best supporting actress). The theater also announced that Mansur will direct a production of “The Homecoming” in December.
