The Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co. has offered a $50,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of four men who robbed a local firm of up to $2.5 million in computer chips, police said Thursday.
Four employees of PC Craft Inc. at 640 N. Puente St. were tied up by four men brandishing weapons on Feb. 1. The robbers escaped with the chips and other computer components, according to Detective Clyde A. Wason.
Police later arrested four Monterey Park men on charges ranging from conspiracy to commit armed robbery to possession of stolen property, and searched homes and businesses in Orange and Los Angeles counties. In the course of the arrests and searches, police said, they recovered $300,000 in stolen computer components and cash from the sale of goods that were stolen in the robbery.
On April 1, the four men pleaded guilty in North Orange County Municipal Court to a variety of charges, Wason said. The guilty pleas resulted in jail time, fines and probation.
While police believe they captured the person who planned the robbery and those who received the stolen goods, Wason said they have still not been able to arrest the four men who actually carried it out.
Wason asks that anyone with information call him at (714) 671-4411.
