COLLEGE ROUNDUP : UCI Sweeps Titans in Volleyball

Jessica Perkins had 13 kills to help UC Irvine to a three-game sweep of Cal State Fullerton in a Big West Conference women’s volleyball match Wednesday at Titan Gym.

Popi Edwards had 12 kills and 21 digs and Stacy Mitchell had 12 kills for the Anteaters (13-8, 6-5 in conference), who won, 15-8, 15-6, 15-5.

Jennifer Lipski had 14 kills for the Titans (1-19, 0-11).

In nonconference women’s volleyball:

Concordia 3, Christian Heritage 0--Minna Huovila had five kills and Christa Sacapanio had seven aces for Concordia (9-14), which won, 15-8, 15-7, 15-13, to end a three-match losing streak. Christian Heritage is 9-21.

In nonconference women’s soccer:

UC Irvine 4, Cal State Fullerton 0--Shawna Berke scored two goals and Lori Muzzonigro and Jennifer Lachman each had one for the visiting Anteaters (10-6). Stephanie Boes had two saves for UCI.
