An Early Frost (Lifetime Monday at 4 p.m.) is the landmark 1985 TV movie starring Aidan Quinn, who must simultaneously inform his stunned parents (Gena Rowlands and Ben Gazzara) that he is gay and that he has AIDS.
The Man in the Moon (TMC Tuesday at 7:50 a.m. and 6:20 p.m.) is an outstanding coming-of-age drama, set in 1957 Louisiana and directed impeccably by Robert Mulligan. Note teen-age newcomer Reese Witherspoon.
Breathless (Bravo Thursday at 6 p.m., Friday at midnight), Jean-Luc Godard’s timeless 1959 New Wave classic, stars Jean-Paul Belmondo as a Bogart-worshiping petty crook and Jean Seberg as an American girl who all-too-effortlessly betrays him.
Star! (AMC Friday at 1 and 10 p.m.), Robert Wise’s elegant, unjustly neglected 1968 biography of British stage star Gertrude Lawrence, is rightly played with a hard edge by Julie Andrews.
