Golden West, Fr. Cross-Country
Foster had a memorable community college debut, winning the Fresno Invitational Saturday. Foster, a freshman from Fountain Valley High School, ran the five-kilometer course in Woodward Park in 19 minutes 30 seconds. She was eight seconds in front of teammate Lisa Mote, who was second. She also was the first Rustler to win the invitational at Fresno. Golden West was third overall. Foster hopes to get another chance to run at Fresno when the State championship is conducted there in November.
Other notables:
* Jenna Biefeld had three goals and one assist as Orange Coast was 4-1 to win the Moorpark soccer tournament.
* Tracy VanHerk played solid defense and added two goals as Cypress won three soccer games over the weekend.
