Curtis, McPhillips Advance at Surfbout

Kasey Curtis of Laguna Niguel and Colin McPhillips of San Clemente advanced to the third round of trials at the Body Glove Surfbout VI Tuesday in six- to eight-foot surf at Lower Trestles near Camp Pendleton.

The event is the ninth stop on the $200,000 1993 Bud Surf Tour. Trials continue today, with the main event beginning Thursday and the finals concluding Sunday.
