An Oxnard couple is clutching the winning ticket for Wednesday’s California Lottery jackpot of $6.5 million.
Lottery officials said the ticket was purchased Wednesday afternoon at the Exxon service station at Gonzales and Ventura roads.
Station manager Jack Staszower said the buyers were a middle-aged couple who live nearby and did not want to be identified.
“I think it’s wonderful,” said Staszower, who will receive $20,000 for selling the winning ticket.
“The gentleman had not been well lately and they really deserved the money,” he said.
Lottery officials said the couple had not yet claimed the money.
They have 180 days to cash in the ticket.
