Faria Wins Four-Lap Main Event at Fairgrounds

COSTA MESA — Mike Faria of Apple Valley was the wire-to-wire winner in the four-lap scratch main event of the weekly speedway motorcycle racing program Friday night at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

Gary Hicks of Riverside was second and Brad Oxley of San Juan Capistrano, who raced under the name “Razzo the Clown,” finished third.

John Aden of Apple Valley won the eight-lap handicap main event. Hicks was second and Oxley third.

Driver Peter Lewis of Ontario and passenger Jamie Macy of San Dimas won the four-lap sidecar main event. Nick Beale of Costa Mesa won the support class main.
