Two vehicles owned by the family of a bank officer held hostage in a Canyon Country home have been found, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said Saturday.
A Toyota 4Runner owned by Toula Demosthenous, an assistant operations officer at TransWorld Bank in Canyon Country, was located by sheriff’s deputies in a condominium complex behind the bank Friday night, Sheriff’s Deputy Kim Ruppert said.
A Nissan Maxima owned by another family member also was found Friday night about two blocks from the victims’ house on Bernina Avenue, Ruppert said.
Nine people, including Demosthenous’ family and several friends, were held hostage for about 15 hours Thursday and early Friday morning by five gunmen who then forced Demosthenous to open a bank vault. All nine were released unharmed.
The suspects remain at large.
