Advanced Photonix Reduces Quarterly Loss

Advanced Photonix Inc., a Camarillo-based maker of light-detection devices, said its fiscal fourth-quarter net loss narrowed to $602,000 from a loss of $762,000 a year earlier.

Revenue in the three months that ended March 31 fell 11%, to $1.4 million from $1.5 million.

For the full year, Advanced Photonix said its loss narrowed to $2.3 million from $3.2 million. Revenue more than doubled, to $7.2 million from $2.8 million.

The company said that it has had a “significant recovery” in the pace of order bookings since February and that its order backlog now stands at $7 million.
