A prisoner who authorities say escaped over the weekend with the help of his shotgun-wielding mother was recaptured. Buddy Rollison, 32, was arrested in a farm field without incident, said Frank Twohig, an official with the DeSoto County Correctional Institution. Rollison climbed over the prison’s walls Saturday and took off in a car driven by his mother, who was armed with a shotgun, authorities said. After a 20-mile chase, he jumped from the car, and his mother, Jimmie J. Lockler Wyzykowski, was arrested. Charges against her included aiding in an escape, reckless driving, possession of a firearm and possession of a police scanner. Wyzykowski was paroled after serving about 10 years of a life sentence for attempted murder and conspiracy to commit a 1981 armed robbery. Rollison was sentenced in 1982 to 120 years for false imprisonment, robbery and grand theft.
