Titans’ DeWalt Receives Honor

FULLERTON — The National Softball Coaches Assn. named Denise DeWalt, Cal State Fullerton’s senior shortstop, a third-team All-American, the school announced Thursday.
DeWalt, Big West player of the year, was named at an at-large position. She set a Fullerton record with a .418 average this season, led the conference in doubles (18) and runs scored (41) and was tied for sixth in RBIs (29) and triples (three).
DeWalt had a .396 average in 404 career at-bats at Fullerton and struck out only 30 times.
