Saturday in the Park with Pavarotti: Supertenor Luciano Pavarotti is scheduled to sing a free Central Park concert in New York on June 26. He’ll be accompanied by members of the New York Philharmonic under conductor Leone Magiera. The Boys Choir of Harlem is set to step in for Il Gran Tenore while he takes an intermission break. The last time Pavarotti tried to give a solo concert in Central Park--in June, 1991--he was rained out. Due to broadcast agreements, the upcoming concert will take place even if it rains. It will be aired nationally on PBS by public TV station WNET June 26, and internationally June 27.
