MCI Moves an Office to Los Angeles: The long-distance carrier said it moved its regional headquarters from San Francisco. The downtown Los Angeles office, one of five regional centers for the nation’s second largest long-distance phone service, will oversee operations in 13 western states. Initially, about 20 employees will be relocated to MCI’s new headquarters in Broadway Plaza, leaving about 100 marketing personnel in the Bay Area.
