Target Store to Anchor Retail Center: Target Stores said Monday that it has closed escrow on a nine-acre site in the town center area of Rancho Santa Margarita. Construction of a 132,722-square-foot store on Santa Margarita Parkway near Avenida de las Flores will begin in the fall, the company said. Target’s store will anchor a 300,000-square-foot retail center being planned by developers Santa Margarita Co. and Koll Co. Target, a division of Minneapolis-based Dayton Hudson Corp., operates more than 550 retail stores in 32 states.
