Center Announces Pop Series Lineup

John Denver, Rosemary Clooney and Debby Boone are among the artists appearing on the 1993-94 Pacific Symphony’s Pops series at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa.
Additionally, Richard Kaufman, the symphony’s newly appointed principal pops conductor, will lead all but one of the seven programs. Kaufman, recipient of a 1993 Grammy Award and a vice president of music for MGM, will not conduct on Jan. 7 and 8. Jack Everly will take over on these dates.
The 1993-94 series:
* Oct. 29 and 31: John Denver.
* Dec. 17 and 18: Rosemary Clooney and Debby Boone.
* Jan. 7 and 8: “From Vienna to Broadway.”
* Feb. 18 and 19: David Gaines.
* April 8 and 9: Peabo Bryson and Patti Austin.
* May 20 and 21: Chita Rivera.
* June 3 and 4: Henry Mancini.
All concerts start at 8 p.m. Subscription tickets, ranging from $98 to $336, will go on sale in June. Tickets for individual concerts will go on sale about 30 days before each event. Information: (714) 755-5799.
