Valley Voters Sent Clear Message

You say the Valley wants more police officers but doesn’t want to pay for them. Perhaps we just want to pay a fair price.
A number of years ago, the City of Los Angeles changed the formula used to determine allocation of police forces, resulting in the low Valley allocation.
Valley voters were asked to support a police funding measure based on the size of their homes. Why size? Why not the assessed value? Why not a parcel or residence unit tax? Could it be that the Valley voters rejected a tax which would fall disproportionately on the Valley with its larger than average home sizes? A tax method which would in effect subsidize the higher-valued Westside?
