Led by Madhava Davis and Bob Jameson, who each had 15 kills, Laguna Beach forced Irvine to break ranks and become disorganized.
Irvine (11-4) didn’t fold after losing the first two games. The Vaqueros went on a 7-0 scoring run in the third game, then widened their lead to 12-1. Laguna Beach answered with a six-point streak, but did not score again.
