On a day of traveling quarterbacks, the Phoenix Cardinals signed free-agent Steve Beuerlein to a three-year, $7.5-million contract Wednesday, hours after the San Francisco 49ers traded Joe Montana to the Kansas City Chiefs, and Bobby Hebert, formerly of the New Orleans Saints, signed with the Atlanta Falcons.
Hebert, the Saints’ starting quarterback last season, agreed to a three-year, $10.4-million contract with the Falcons. The deal included a $1-million signing bonus and up to $600,000 in incentives.
Hebert reportedly had rejected a two-year offer worth more than $6 million with New Orleans.
