Carter Hawley Names New Executive Vice President: Gerald Mathews has joined Los Angeles-based Carter Hawley Hale Stores Inc. as executive vice president of stores, a new position. Before the appointment, Mathews was executive vice president of stores for Saks Fifth Avenue. Mathews will be responsible for strengthening the Carter Hawley store organization and making it more customer-focused. Carter Hawley operates the Broadway department stores.
