The match could be a preview to the Southern Section Division III final. Whittier Christian (9-0, 4-0), the two-time defending section champion, is top-ranked in the section and ranked fifth in the county. The Heralds beat Calvary Chapel in both section finals.
Calvary Chapel (9-0, 4-0) is ranked third in the section and ninth in the county.
Senior middle blocker Derek Beard leads Whittier Christian, and junior outside hitter Philip Schildts leads Calvary Chapel.
The teams will meet again in league play May 7 at Whittier Christian in the final match of the regular season.
