One man was killed and two others were injured in Tujunga when a car swerved into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into a pickup truck, Los Angeles police said Sunday.
The driver of the car, 28-year-old Zhirik Nazaryan of Sunland, died instantly in the 6:40 p.m. Saturday crash on Tujunga Canyon Boulevard near Hamilton Drive, Officer Dana Dejongh said.
According to Dejongh, Nazaryan was driving south on Tujunga Canyon Boulevard when his car crossed the center line and slammed into a northbound pickup driven by Steven Douglas Campbell, 31, of North Hollywood.
Campbell and his passenger, 17-year-old Dan Campbell, were taken to Verdugo Hills Hospital, where they were treated and released, Dejongh said.
It was unclear Sunday why Nazaryan swerved into oncoming traffic.
